【大纪元2017年11月01日讯】（大纪元记者吴英编译报导）美国纽约曼哈顿西下城地区周二（10月31日）下午，发生卡车驶入自行车道撞人事件，目前已知8人死亡，十多人受伤。纽约市长白思豪稍后在新闻发布会上，将之定为恐怖袭击事件。

纽约警察局表示，嫌犯是一名29岁男子，他驾着租来的Home Depot卡车，在自行车道上冲撞骑自行车的人及行人，在车子撞上一辆校车后，他下车并亮出武器，随后被警方枪击腹部。

警方已逮捕嫌犯，并将他送到医院救治。四名执法官员告诉CNN新闻，嫌犯喊着伊斯兰教的口号。
