【大紀元5月9日訊】(大紀元記者世桑新澤西編譯報導)1965年創立的聯邦獨立機構The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)，在有關基金會McCormick Tribune Foundation 的資助下，現在贈給全美各地以及海外兩千多個公共圖書館，公立私立學校，家庭學校以及特殊學校，軍事院校一批免費的獲獎圖書。這批有15本書包括了西班牙語，主題為“主人翁書架”(We the People Bookshelf)，內容關於“成長為美國人”(Becoming American)，配備有招帖畫，書籤和其它推廣宣傳用品，協同圖書館協會之各個圖書館的驚醒和宣傳以及相關活動，以便支持和豐富地區城鎮居民們的文化活動。其中新州有53個地區城鎮活動獲得這項援助，如﹕Caldwell，Edison，Fort Lee，Montville，Morristown，New Brunswick，Nutley，Ridgewood，Trenton等。人們可以通過網頁查到自己居住地區是否屬於贈書之列﹕www.humanities.gov 。
這些書有內容豐富的故事，記載有美國移民在自由，正義和機會奮鬥過程中成長經歷的歷史，是青少年瞭解過去繼承美國傳統文化以及成長為美國公民的最好讀物。這批屬於系列We the People program的叢書，有助於教師和學生以及大眾瞭解美國歷史和文化。主要書目﹕
