【大紀元2017年12月04日訊】12月3日晚，全球各地的人們有機會看到一輪明亮的滿月懸掛夜空。這是今年最大滿月，也是80年來第8大滿月，被稱為「超級月亮」。
月球以橢圓形軌道繞行地球，所以和地球間的距離不斷變化，如果滿月發生時離地球越近，所看見的滿月也越大。
美國科學家佩特羅表示，超級月亮（Super Moon）一般來說是指月球距離地球最近的狀況，與平日的滿月比較，超級月亮看來會大14%，亮度則高出30%。週日是黃曆10月16，為「望月」、即「滿月」之日。
週日這種情況下，月亮離地球約357,987公里，比今年6月份的滿月離我們的距離近了差不多5萬公里，
天文學家表示，週日晚的超級月亮會比今年6月9日的最小滿月大出14%左右，同時，今晚滿月的亮度也會比平常高出15%左右。
這次的超級月亮於中港台時間12月3日晚上11點47分正式登場，時值美東時間12月3日上午10點47分，因為美國東部時間和中國的時差相差了13個小時。
欣賞超級月亮的最佳時間，是在當地的日落之後幾分鐘、月亮升起時，會使它看起來比高掛在天空時更大、更亮。
天文學家表示，民眾賞月不需任何工具，用肉眼就可欣賞，但若用望遠鏡，則可看出一些月面地形特徵。
身在國際太空站的宇航員也在推特上貼出從太空看超級月亮的照片，宇航員Randy Bresnik寫道，從太空站前排座位看去，美麗的月亮升起過程，令你感受到超級月亮的激勵。

此外，12月14日將迎來北半球三大流星雨之一的雙子座流星雨極大值；如果錯過了雙子座流星雨，12月22日還可以面向北方，嘗試在小熊座流星雨中找尋流星的足跡。
