【大紀元2016年07月12日訊】「曼哈頓懸日」（Manhattanhenge，又稱曼哈頓巨石陣）是紐約市標誌性的景觀，每年5月和7月出現兩次。5月29日和30日是今年第一及第二次，很多紐約市民和遊客都未能如願看到壯觀景象，7月11日及12日則是今年的第三和第四次懸日，為了拍攝難得一見的懸日畫面，許多民眾及攝影師站在車水馬龍的曼哈頓街頭搶拍。
由於曼哈頓街道是東西南北棋牌式排列，曼哈頓懸日出現的時候，太陽剛好就從馬路中間落下，過程不會被高樓或建築物擋住。此一特殊的景象是美國天文學家泰森在2002年發現的，由於跟英國巨石陣有異曲同工之妙，泰森也將曼哈頓懸日命名為「曼哈頓巨石陣」(Manhattanhenge)。
