各位读者好：
我常告诉课堂上的学员们，在学习新闻英语的过程中，你应该要懂的是“结构字”，而不是“关键字”。结构字与关键字有何不同呢？一篇文章如果你懂得其中几个关键字，也许这篇文章你就能看得懂；但是换一篇文章，你可能就又不懂了。但如果你学的是结构字，那么属于这一类结构的文章，就都能够看得懂。
举例而言，本则新闻的标题，其中“谴责”一词即是属于“政治新闻的结构字”。但新闻记者在写“谴责”一词时，却会有criticize, blame, blast, condemn, censure, denounce, slam, slash, last out, snub, rap, rebuke等“类义字”，你都必须要会，但毋须精确地区分其间的差异，那么无论新闻记者如何换字谴词，就都跑不出你的手掌心了！

As more information continues to filter out of Tibet, more and more world leaders are condemning the crackdown.
当更多的资讯从西藏渗透出来，愈来愈多的世界领袖谴责对西藏的镇压。
Among them, speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, who has traveled to India to meet with the Dalai Lama.
他们中有美国众议院议长南茜‧佩洛西，她旅行至印度与达赖喇嘛见面。
[Nancy Pelosi, U.S. House Speaker]:
“The situation in Tibet is a challenge to the conscience of the world. It’s a challenge to the conscience of the world.
南茜说：“在西藏的情况，对世界的良心是一项挑战，是对世界良心的一项挑战。
It is a situation where we need to know what is happening there and the world needs to know and so we have come here and say to you that we are with you to meet that challenge.
这是一个情况，我们必须知道在那儿发生了什么，世界必须知道，所以我们来到这里，并且对你们说，我们和你们在一起面对这项挑战。
We thank you for the inspiration that you are to the world and thank you for the courage that you give us to join you in this.”

The website of a Tibetan newspaper published pictures of alleged rioters, apparently supplied by Chinese security services, and urged its readers to turn in the suspects.
一家西藏报纸的网站刊出了疑似暴徒的图片，很明显地是由中国公安部门所提供的，并且敦促其读者群找出嫌犯。
