夏天還好，但在淒風苦雨與暴風雪來臨的夜晚，是他們最難捱的時刻，那真是“紐約夜未眠”！（Sleepless New York!）不過還好，社會並沒有遺忘他們。

他可能沒有家，但是他並不是沒有幫助。

To follow up means to find out more about something, or take further action connected with it.
Follow up是一個很常用的動詞片語，意思是去找到更多關於某項事物的東西，或者是採取進一步有關這項事物的行動，中文就是“追蹤”之意。

To affiliate means to cause a group to become part of or form a close relationship with another, usually larger, group or organization.
動詞Affiliate的意思：是將一個團體與另一個經常是較大的團體或組織，變成它的一部份或形成密切的關係。這裡affiliated with BRC是分詞片語的用法，意思是附屬於BRC。
Thanks to their caring efforts, the subway doesn’t have to be a permanent address.
由於他們照顧的努力，地鐵不必要是一個永久的地址。
Thanks to並不是謝謝，而是because of someone or something, 「因為、由於」的意思，等同Due to, Owing to。但這裡用Thanks to更有一語雙關的味道，因為也蘊含著感謝的意涵在內。
“Permanent” means lasting for a long time or forever. Permanent是一個很有氣質的形容詞，意思是會延續一段很長時間，或是永遠。地鐵不必要是一個永久的地址，意思就是不必老是住在地鐵裡！@*
