【大紀元2025年01月02日訊】（大紀元記者正玉澳洲編譯報導）週四（1月2日）， 2024年備受經濟學家好評並強烈推薦的18本好書排行版揭曉。
其中書名為《最簡短的經濟學歷史》（The Shortest History of Economics）受到三位經濟學家——巴薩內斯（David Bassanese）、布洛克瑟姆（Paul Bloxham）、卡恩斯（Jonathan Kearns）的強烈推薦。
據《金融評論報》報導，《最簡短的經濟學歷史》的作者是雷伊（Andrew Leigh）， 現任聯邦競爭、慈善及財政部助理部長及就業部助理部長。他曾擔任澳洲國立大學經濟系教授。
這本書通過經濟學概念探討了跨越幾個世紀與大洲的歷史、大富翁遊戲的起源，討論了犁的發明如何加深性別不平等，以及疾病如何塑造殖民主義。
卡恩斯曾爲澳洲儲備銀行官員，現任Challenger的首席經濟師。他說：「雷伊的這本書帶我們開啓了一個有趣的旅程，它向我們展示如何透過經濟學的角度來觀察人類歷史和我們當前的生活。」
